Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group
CARBONDALE -- According to the Alzheimer's Association, more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's, and if you're a caretaker of a person with the disease it can be very challenging.
Alzheimer's Association Caregiver Support Groups provide emotional, educational and social support for family and friends of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other, related dementias. These support groups are intended for family caregivers of individuals in the middle to later stages of Alzheimer's disease/other dementia.
The support groups are held every first Saturday of the month. There's one Saturday, January 4th in Carbondale. It starts at 2:00 p.m. at the Southern Illinois Center for Independent Living.
