Injury Forces Vet to Postpone Walk
WSIL-- Injury has forced an Illinois veteran to take a break in his planned walk through the state.
Bill Trow's goal was to walk the length of Illinois - from south to north - in just 19 days.
Trow, a Vietnam veteran, began his journey July 20 in Cairo. By Wednesday he had made it to downtown Decatur, but he decided to suspend his walk after developing shin splints.
Trow is heading home to Arlington Heights to let his leg heal. Once he is able, he plans to walk the remaining 205 miles.
