Body Found Near Poplar Bluff Junior High School

POPLAR BLUFF -- Butler County Coroner Jim Akers has identified the body found near the Poplar Bluff Junior High School this week.

He is Justin R. Allen of Arlington, Texas. Allen's body was found Monday afternoon in the 1300 block of West Maud Street. 

Several witnesses say they saw Allen camped in the area and said he was unusually thin and acted confused and disoriented.  

An examination of Allen's body revealed no signs of struggle, and X-rays determined there were no broken bones. Results of the autopsy were inconclusive, and the cause of death could not be determined.

POPLAR BLUFF -- Police are investigating after a body was found near the Poplar Bluff Junior High School Monday afternoon.  

Poplar Bluff Police Department responded to the 1300 block of West Maud Street at around 3:45 p.m., in reference to a report that a body was found in a wooded area behind the school.

The body was in an advanced stage of decomposition. No cause of death was immediately apparent. 

Investigators with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, Butler County Coroner's Office, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control responded to process the scene.
