Zombies Take Over Carbondale's Downtown
CARBONDALE -- If you happened to have been near downtown Carbondale on Saturday, you may have seen something unusual. Zombies were slowly shuffling down the Carbondale strip, making their way into downtown businesses and scaring a few kids in the process. It's all part of the third annual zombie walk. This year, more than fifty people signed up to participate.
"A lot of people laugh, some people scream and run inside and roll up their windows," says zombie Ashley Johnson.
Lyndsey Scott with Carbondale Main Street says, "We're just showing support to the downtown businesses. They can go in, buy things, look around, just check out the businesses downtown if they're not familiar with them."
Zombie walks have grown into a Halloween tradition for many cities around the country.
