CARTERVILLE -- High School students from around the state gathered in Carterville Saturday for Youth Success Day. Roughly three dozen students took part in the event, where they learned about team work and how to be successful. They also heard from several guest speakers, including News 3's morning anchor Jalah Gray.

The rally is hosted by the Jackson-Williamson County Rotary Club. Its mission is to provide leadership skills to high school students in order to empower them to be leaders in their own communities and throughout the world.

"There's so many things that go wrong in the world that they hear about and read and process, and you want them to be able to empower themselves to do good in the world," explains Merilyn Hogan with the Rotary Club.

This was the second year the Rotary Club has put on the event.
