Wrongful Death Suit in SIU Student's Death

By WSIL Manager

JACKSON COUNTY-- Pravin Varughese's family plans to sue the man who last saw the 19-year-old alive.

Varughese left a party with an acquaintance in Carbondale almost six months ago. The two drove down Route 13 until they got into an argument, and Pravin ran into the woods. His body was discovered in those woods, behind Kohl's, six days later.

Lovely Varughese says they have gotten few answers since her son's mysterious death. This suit is her way of looking for justice.

"I just want to know what happened that night; where he picked him up, what they did, instead of us giving all these stories... I don't want this to happen to another family. I'm going through hell right now," Lovely explained.
The Varughese family will file their suit this week. Police still say his death did not involve foul play. Authorities have yet to release Pravin's autopsy or toxicology report.
