MARION-- Folks gathered in Marion on Saturday to promote healthy living for pets in the region.

Jamie Sord Hosted that fundraiser at the Marion Elks, dubbed by its creators, "WOOFSTOCK". All of the proceeds will go to the Angelina Foundation

Angelina was a dog killed last year due to a misunderstanding at a Saline County shelter. Afterwards, those involved started the foundation to support local non-kill shelters.

Folks with the Alngelina Foundation say without fund-raisers like this, animals die every day, simply due to a lack of space

"It's kind of a group effort," said Rita Diefenbach,"Even though some people are here selling jewelry or makeup, they're also animal lovers as well. So they're reaching out. With their support, they're letting us know that they care about our cause."
