Wing-A-Ma-Jig Festival Brings In a Crowd

By WSIL Manager

HARRISBURG -- There was a lot of good eating at the second annual Wing-a-ma-jig in Harrisburg Saturday afternoon. It's a county-wide event, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and the Saline County Tourism Board.

There were several live bands and plenty tasty chicken wings to eat. Wing-a-ma-jig is a chicken wing cooking contest with prize money totaling $1,700. There was also a wing eating contest and plenty of vendors
Organizers say they doubled everything for the second year of the event with the expectation of more people checking out what they have to offer.
"We was hoping it would turn into an annual event and bring people to Saline County. We have a lot to offer them. We wanted people to come and see what we're all about over here in Saline County," says Chamber of Commerce Vice President Scott Stout.
Legence Bank took first place in the Hot Wings category, as well as People's Choice. Jim Hayes Incorporated took first in the Mild category.
