West Frankfort Celebrates 100 Years of FCHS

By Nick Hausen

WEST FRANKFORT -- It's been one hundred years since Frankfort Community High School had its first graduating class back in 1914. To mark the occasion the district is holding an all-class reunion.

"100 Years of FCHS" kicked off Thursday morning with a golf scramble. More activities are planned throughout Saturday.

Organizers sent out more than 4,000 invitations and got responses from 25 states.

"Every year, there are several classes holding reunions," explained committee chair Marcia Raubach. "I think it's just such a tradition here in town. I wonder why we haven't done the all-class reunion before."

Many of the events are open to the public. All West Frankfort graduates are welcome.  For a full list of activities, check out the FCHS 100 Years Facebook page.
