Fugitive Arrested in Alexander County

UNION CO. -- Union County authorities say a wanted fugitive has now been taken into custody.

Union County deputies and U.S. Marshals arrested Brian K. Haymaker around 11 p.m. Thursday at a home in McClure, Illinois.

Haymaker, a convicted sex offender, was wanted on a parole violation. He had been spotted Tuesday night in Union County but fled from police.

Illinois State Police, the Alexander County Sheriff's Office and the McClure Police Department assisted in the search for Haymaker. 


UNION CO. -- Authorities in Union County are asking for the public's help locating a fugitive.

Brian K. Haymaker, 38, is a convicted sex offender wanted on a parole violation by the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The Union County Sheriff's Office says Haymaker was spotted Tuesday night in Union County but fled from police. Haymaker is still believed to be in the area and is considered armed and dangerous.


The Illinois Department of Corrections website shows Haymaker served time at Big Muddy prison for predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal abuse but was paroled last month. Haymaker is listed as a "sexual predator" on the state's sex offender registry.

Residents are advised not to approach Haymaker themselves. Instead, anyone with information on Haymaker is asked to call their local authorities or the Union County Sheriff's Office at (618) 833-5500.
