Three-Vehicle Crash in Williamson County

CAMBRIA -- The westbound lanes of Route 13 in Cambria are back open, after a multi-vehicle wreck had them shut down for more than an hour around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Illinois State Police say two children and an adult were taken to local hospitals for minor injuries. Deputies report 31-year-old Melissa Simpson of Herrin attempted to make a left off of Route 13 onto Cambria Road, but drove in front of another vehicle, causing a crash. The force of the impact struck another car on Cambria road.

Simpson was cited for failure to yield. Five departments responded to the crash.

 

ORIGINAL STORY

CAMBRIA -- A multi-vehicle wreck on Route 13 Saturday afternoon rerouted traffic for a couple hours. It happened just before 3 p.m. Five different departments responded to the crash, but Illinois State Police are handling the investigation.     

We're still waiting on details, but News 3 has learned that three vehicles were involved and there was a personal injury. Drivers were rerouted off of the westbound lanes and onto Cambria road, but IL 13 is now back open.
