Marion Host's 6th Annual Tour De Hope
MARION -- You couldn't have asked for better weather to ride your bike Saturday, and that's a good thing for many bikers that were riding for a good cause.
It was part of the 6th annual Tour de Hope, a fund-raising event for the Hands of Hope Family Clinic in Marion. Just under 60 people participated in the race, with some biking up to 100 miles. Local fitness studio Lean Her Way also participated by hosting a spinning marathon and raised nearly $1,000 for the clinic.
"We decided to put this on and it's just been a wonderful experience for the clinic," says Melinda Hammond, the Executive Director for Hands of Hope Family Clinic.
Hands of Hope provides assistance to low income families with no access to insurance. Organizers look to make around $12,000 with this year's ride.
