WEST FRANKFORT-- Police arrest six people on drug charges during an undercover investigation.

West Frankfort Police received a tip that drugs were being sold out of a room at the Gray Plaza Motel.

An undercover officer went to the motel and asked to buy drugs from two people staying in room 117. The two people then had four more people come to the motel with more drugs.

The bust led to the arrest of the two people who were staying in room 117. Officers also arrested the four others who came to the room to supply more drugs.

Police recovered cocaine, marijuana, and money during the drug buy.

West Frankfort Police Chief, Jeff Tharp, says they also saw evidence that the six arrested were planning to sell the drugs. "Everything was packaged for sale. The marijuana had been broken down into immediately accessible amounts to hand out and sell," say Tharp.

Police arrested:
Jeffrey Chism, 26, of Carbondale
Jackie Watts-Craig, 24, of Christopher
Delaynard Martin Jr., 21, of Marion
Brittany Barton, 21, of Marion
