Small things like closing your blinds or unplugging electronics while they're not in use can scale back on your energy use.
And raising your thermostat by five degrees when you're not home can also help.
But, putting it any higher than that will make your air conditioner work harder to readjust.
Outdoor equipment can also tack on extra costs to your electric bill.
They also say replacing incandescent bulbs with florescent lights can also cut back on heat and energy usage.
