WEST FRANKFORT -- A $1,000 reward is being offered for information in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a West Frankfort woman.

It happened around 9:15 p.m. June 12 in the 200 block of North Gardener Street. Barbara Rybicki was walking along the road when she was hit by a southbound vehicle. The driver then left the scene.

Family members say Rybicki suffered two broken legs and a blood clot to the brain.

During Tuesday's council meeting, city leaders approved a $500 reward for information in the case. That reward was then matched by a local business owner.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call the West Frankfort Police Department at (618) 937-3502 or email
