HERRIN -- A man robbed Jumpin' Jimmy's convenience store at gunpoint Monday night.

Police say the suspect walked into the store on Park Avenue around 8:20 p.m., displayed a weapon, and demanded money. The clerk was working alone at the time, and told police the man got away eastbound behind the business.

Investigators are working to get surveillance images of the suspect.

This is the fifth armed robbery in Southern Illinois this month alone, four of them convenience stores, the other a bank hold-up.

A convenience store in Elkville was robbed Saturday night, followed by a hold up at a Murphysboro store on Sunday.  Earlier in the month, a Zeigler convenience store was robbed at gunpoint on January 6th.  No suspects have been arrested in any of the robberies.  Authorities are not saying if any of them may be related.

The convenience store clerk at Jumpin' Jimmys was not hurt Monday night, but was shaken up.
