No More Traditional Light Bulbs
WSIL -- There a change coming with this new year. You can say goodbye to the old light bulbs that date back to Thomas Edison. Starting January first, stores are now only allowed to sell what's left of their remaining stock of the traditional incandescent light bulbs. Being sold in their place are compact fluorescent lamp bulbs and LED bulbs.
It's all part of a ban to slowly phase out the energy-draining bulb for a more economical one. President George Bush signed the law back in 2007.
