DU QUOIN -- The 91st year of the Du Quoin State Fair will come with some changes when it kicks off on August 22.

Fair Manager Shannon Woodworth says he is excited about what the fair is doing for veterans this year.

"We're going to have free parking for veterans, free food and free entertainment. All this will take place on the last day of the fair September the first," said Woodworth.

This year the fair will also feature refreshment stands where families can come out, enjoy the fair, take a rest if they need to, then get back to the activities.

Professional wrestling returns to the fair to with Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler competing in the main event.

Classic rock will kick start the musical acts with Foreigner on Saturday, August 23.

"During their most popular song "I want to know what love is", we will have a choir made up of Du Quoin High School students backing up this legendary group," said Woodworth.

Woodworth also says there will also be more free entertainment than in past years.
