More Arrests For Jackson County Robberies
JACKSON COUNTY -- Two additional arrests have been made in connection with the recent string of armed robberies in southern Illinois.
Murphysboro Police arrested a 17-year-old juvenile Friday afternoon. He is believed to have participated in the Murphysboro and Elkville Casey's armed robberies.
Friday evening, a 15-year-old juvenile was also arrested in connection with the armed robbery at the Murphysboro Hucks Store on January 19th. The 15-year-old is also believed to have participated in the Zeigler Casey's armed robbery on January 6th.
News 3 reported Friday that Marlon Santos, Drake Smith, and another juvenile were arrested Thursday evening. With the newest arrest, that brings the total to five individuals involved in the armed robberies.
Smith and Santos remain behind bars in the Jackson County Jail. The juveniles are currently housed at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center in Benton.
