MARION--  When members of the military return home from deployment, it can be a difficult adjustment to civilian life. The Marion VA held a mental health summit Friday, connecting local veterans and their caregivers with community partners.

The summit covered a wide range of topics, from post traumatic stress disorder and homelessness to substance abuse and suicide prevention. Experts say they want every vet to know it's okay to ask for help.

"We want our veterans to know we care about them and we're here to help them with all aspects of their lives. We want to look at them as providing good holistic care," said Nikki Presley, Marion VA Local Recovery Coordinator.
