Marion Teen Killed in Crash

WILLIAMSON CO. -- Williamson County Coroner Junior Burke has identified the victim of Friday morning's fatal accident as Darron Hunter, 18, of Marion.

Burke says Hunter's car was headed north on Route 166 when it crossed the center line and hit a southbound pickup truck.

The truck's driver and a passenger were taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center then transferred to a St. Louis hospital in stable condition.

The crash is still under investigation.

 

ORIGINAL STORY

WILLIAMSON CO. -- An early morning traffic crash has claimed the life of a Marion teen.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Friday on Route 166 just south of Canaville Road.

Authorities say an 18-year-old Marion teen was headed north on Route 166 when his car crossed the center line and hit a southbound pickup truck. The teen was killed. Two people in the truck were injured.

The Williamson County Fire Department reported Route 166 between Canaville Road and Ralls Grove Road was closed for several hours following the crash.

The teen's name is not being released at this time.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office and Williamson County Coroner's Office continue to investigate.
