MARION -- The Williamson County Historical Society Museum held an open house Saturday.

ORIGINAL STORY

MARION --  The Williamson County Historical Society Museum celebrated it's grand opening Saturday. It's located on South Van Buren Street in Marion.

Inside, you can find local artifacts that date back hundreds of years. The museum has 24 rooms, each containing memorabilia from a different era in history. Officials say the collection started with an antique dealer and grew throughout the years with donations by community members.

Williamson County Historical Society member Bob Jackson says, "Thank goodness they decided to bring them here instead of throw them away, because there is a lot of stuff. That's lost to somebody and it doesnt mean anything, but to the general public it does mean something."

The museum is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3p.m. and from 10a.m. to 1p.m on Saturdays.
