HARRISBURG-- A man walking across the country to bring attention to suicide prevention, made his way through our area on Sunday. Ian Cummins lost his own brother to suicide and now wants to help others with mental illness.

He started his cross-country march from Virginia Beach and arrived in Ridgway on Friday. By 2 p.m. on Sunday, Cummins had made his way to Harrisburg, where there were several people ready to greet him at the American Legion.

"You meet so many good people on the road," he said. "I can share this story about Ryan's life and his struggle with those I meet. There's so many people that I run into who can relate to this, and I'm hoping to initiate some discussion on mental health during this walk.

If you would like to help Cummins, click HERE for more information. All donations will go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
