CARBONDALE -- A woman with severe cerebral palsy isn't letting her disability hold her back. Stephanie Cox, an SIU alum, typed an entire book with her nose.

She was at the public library today to discuss her novel, "Gentle Firmness." Cox has her masters degree in education and has worked with many infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Her book highlights raising children in a Christian home, something she is very passionate about.

"Ever since I was a child I have had a deep love for young children. They, especially infants and toddlers, have always fascinated me," said Cox.

She will next appear at Handfuls on Purpose in Marion on August 16 from 2 to 4 p.m.
