Kiwanis Club of Carbondale Gives Back
CARBONDALE -- Christmas is looking brighter for several charity groups in Carbondale after generous donations. During its annual "Gives Back" luncheon, the Kiwanis Club presented five checks ranging from $500 to $750.
The money will benefit the Austin Wade Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club, CASA of Williamson County, the "I Can Read" program, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jackson and Perry Counties.
"Our mission is to serve the children of the world, so anything that we do, any money that we collect we give back to the community and organizations that help children," explains Mindy Combs, the Vice President of the Kiwanis Club of Carbondale.
Kiwanis members collect donations all year long through fundraisers, including their peanut sale and pancake breakfast.
