Jackson County Man Convicted of Murder
MURPHYSBORO -- A Jackson County man has been found guilty of murder.
Kely Y. Arbuckle, 26, was convicted Monday of first degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm, as well as two drug counts for possessing more than 5,000 grams of cannabis.
Arbuckle was charged in connection with the March 9 shooting death of Toren Stanley, 20, of Marion. Authorities said Arbuckle killed Stanley during a drive-by shooting at the intersection of East Grand and South Giant City Road.
Arbuckle was taken into custody in St. Francis County, Arkansas nearly two weeks later.
Jackson County State's Attorney Mike Carr says the jury deliberated less than two hours before returning the guilty verdict.
Arbuckle will be sentenced on March 13.
