MT. VERNON -- A Jefferson County man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for making meth.

Jonathan Cooper, 42, of Ina, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of unlawful participation in meth production.

Cooper was arrested Aug. 16 after authorities raided his home on Maple Street. Ina Police said they found several pounds of meth, along with active labs and materials used to make the drug. One Ina officer had to be hospitalized after being exposed to the meth-related chemicals.

In addition to his 15-year prison sentence, Cooper will also serve two years of mandatory supervised release.
