ISP: 70 Pounds of Cannabis Found During Traffic Stop

PULASKI CO. -- A traffic stop in Pulaski County leads to two arrests and the discovery of 70 pounds of marijuana.

It happened Monday morning on Interstate 57 northbound near mile post 7.

Illinois State Police had stopped a 2014 Chrysler minivan for speeding. During a search of the van, the trooper found a large suitcase filled with approximately 70 pounds of marijuana.

The van's driver and passenger - Pedro Javier Cuevas, 28, and Ashley Dyan Tuley, 30, both of McKinney, Texas - were arrested for trafficking cannabis and taken to state police headquarters in Ullin.
