Hundreds Flock to Bridal Expo in Marion
MARION -- It was a day for future brides in Marion Sunday, as hundreds of women made their way to a popular bridal expo at the Pavilion of the City of Marion. This is the 17th year for event. Brides-to-be had the chance to browse through 70 different wedding-related vendors, from florists and deejays, to caterers. And there were plenty samples of wedding cakes and even a cake-eating contest.
Event organizers say this is a good opportunity to get a jump-start on wedding planning.
"You can come here and find just about anything you need for that moment when you're getting married," says River Radio Regional Vice President Steve Falat.
There was also a fashion show, giving brides a look at different wedding gowns. It cost $5 to get in. Organizers say by Monday, they'll already start planning for next year.
