HERRIN -- A Williamson County woman is heartbroken after a unique piece of artwork was stolen from her yard.

The life-size statue of a Native American painted horse was taken July 28 from Jan McVicker's home near Energy. Only parts of the back legs are left.

The one-of-a-kind piece of art meant a lot to McVicker. It reminded her of her late husband and their shared love of horses.

"I really, really appreciated having this remembrance of sharing this time with him, to have made this beautiful thought and still have it with me," McVicker said.

McVicker says because of the way the horse was built, the theft must have been premeditated. She is now offering a $1,000 reward for its return.

If you have any information about the theft, you're asked to call Herrin Police.
