MARION -- A Williamson County teen is headed to prison for a 2009 fatal accident.

Williamson County State's Attorney Chuck Garnati says Larry Sanders, 19, of Herrin, was sentenced Tuesday to 11 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Sanders pleaded guilty in November to one count of aggravated DUI. Authorities say Sanders was driving under the influence of drugs when he struck Teneva Archie, 18, at an intersection in Colp in September 2009. Archie, who was walking with a friend, was killed.

Sanders must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence. He has also been ordered to pay court costs and restitution.
