Herrin Burglary Suspect in Custody

HERRIN -- A southern Illinois man wanted for a string of break-ins in Herrin has turned himself in to authorities.

Jarrid Harris, 20, turned himself in over the weekend.

Investigators said Harris may be linked to up to 10 break-ins in Herrin. In each case, a back door was kicked in and the home was ransacked.

Harris faces preliminary charges of burglary, battery and criminal damage to property. He is being held in the Williamson County Jail.
