WSIL -- A Harrisburg fire truck was damaged in a traffic crash in central Illinois.

It happened around 12:15 p.m. Monday on Interstate 55 near the Sangamon Avenue exit in Springfield.

Illinois State Police say the fire truck was headed north on I-55 when the front tire blew. The truck hit a concrete median then overturned in the southbound lanes.

Harrisburg Fire Chief Bill Summers tells News 3 the driver was not injured. Summers says the truck was on its way to Washington, Illinois for ladder repairs.
