Demolition Continues on Former Good Samaritan Hospital

By Matthew Searcy

MT. VERNON -- Nearly one year after the new Good Samaritan Regional Health Center opened in Mt. Vernon, the city's old hospital is being torn down.

Crews began tearing down the former Good Samaritan Hospital in early January.
The lot was sold to a Centralia construction business last year. That company is expected to turn the site into a future housing development.
There is no timetable on when the project will be finished.
