SALINE CO. -- More than a hundred people were in Eldorado Sunday afternoon to thank firefighters for their hard work.

The United Methodist Church had a massive potluck ready. Event organizer Roma Lee Wilson said they got the idea after lightning struck a set of oil tanks last weekend. The lightning sparked a fire that lasted two days.

"We have a small congregation that is really concerned about the efforts of the fire department and other city officials in this town," said church member Rick Wilson. "We really wanted to honor them."

"It's nice to know that the community's behind us, standing behind and supporting us just the way that they do," said Dan Johnston with the Eldorado Fire Department.

The church wants to hold more luncheons in the future.
