WSIL -- More than a dozen bikes took a ride Saturday in support of fallen riders.

They started the trek Saturday afternoon at JJ's Ranch, a bar in Johnston City.

They had several stops along I-57 and ended up in Bluford. The price was $15 a person and $20 for a couple. The Motorcycle Riders Memorial Group's aim is to raise funds to build onto and maintain a memorial in Whittington.

Note: The Above Pictures were posted to the group's Facebook Page in 2012, rather than 2002.

The Memorial, located on the corner of Routes 37 and 154, pays tribute to fallen riders. Families of those riders can have a brick with their loved one's name on it installed in the wall.

"I would say every rider can name at least one person that they used to ride with, but they can't anymore because they're gone," said Jim Fleeman, the group's founder.  "And that's what this is about. Remembering the people that we loved and rode with, who loved the same things that we do."
