HARRISBURG--  The Harrisburg City Council approved plans Thursday night for a new assisted living facility.

It will be called Villas of Holly Brook and look like the company's senior apartments in Herrin. The facility will be just off Route 13 on the west side of Harrisburg.

It's set to bring 30-40 full-time jobs to the area. Officials say it's another step forward in Harrisburg's economic development.

"One thing I think Ron [Crank] would be really proud of is one of the accomplishments that happened tonight to see the new retirement center coming to Harrisburg. I know he had been working really hard with trying to get this to come to Harrisburg and to see this happen tonight, you know, the day he passes away, is really special," said John McPeek, Harrisburg commissioner.

The city also plans to extend the Frontage Road off of Route 13, near the new facility to help with traffic. The project will break ground on August 18th.
