Death Investigation in Cobden

COBDEN -- The Union County Coroner's Office has released the results of an autopsy conducted Tuesday afternoon.

Coroner Phil Hileman says Jason Caraker, 41, fell while walking and died as a result of asphyxiation.

Hileman calls Caraker's death a "tragic accident."

Visitation for Caraker will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, also at the funeral home.

COBDEN -- The Union County Coroner's Office has identified the man as 41-year-old Jason Caraker. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Arrangements are pending at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.

Update reflects correct spelling of Caraker



COBDEN -- An autopsy is planned for Tuesday after a man's body was found in Cobden. 

Authorities say they found the man at 8:20 a.m. Monday in an alley connecting Poplar St. and East Ash. The Cobden Police Chief says the man is Jason Karraker.
Authorities say the death appears to be an accident. Officials hope to learn more after the autopsy.
The Cobden Police Chief did not know the exact spelling of Jason Karraker's last name at the time this article was published.
