Crews Called to Alto Pass House Fire
UPDATED 4:36 p.m. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2014
UNION CO. -- Fire crews have now cleared the scene of a fire at 3760 Milligan Hill Road in Alto Pass.
Cobden Fire Chief Larry Quertermous tells News 3 that the fire likely began in a fireplace flue and stayed mostly in the attic of the home.
Quertermous says multiple layers of the roof from multiple additions to the home made it difficult to break through and put the fire out.
Fire officials do believe the home is a total loss, but many items from inside were salvagable.
Quertermous says Cobden, Alto Pass, Anna, and Jonesboro Fire Departments responded to the fire.
There was one person in the home when the fire began; that man got out of the house uninjured.
