COBDEN -- A junior at Cobden High School may have just created the best night for an autistic freshman after she brought him as her date to the Homecoming dance.

Carley Washer decided instead of going with her boyfriend or a group of girlfriends, she wanted to take 15-year-old Chad Gregg.

Chad is autistic and the two have grown up together, since their mother's are close friends. Friday night's dance was Chad's first. Carley even had the autism awareness ribbon woven into her corsage and Chad's boutonniere.
