Carterville Teen Laid to Rest
CARTERVILLE -- The Carterville teenager who took his own life earlier this week was laid to rest on Sunday. Visitation services for 15-year-old Jordan Lewis were at 11 a.m., followed by a burial at 2 p.m.
Lewis was found dead in his home from a self-inflicted gunshot Thursday morning. The boy's father, Brad Lewis, says he misses him and Jordan wouldn't have taken his own life if he wasn't bullied at school.
"I want parents to know all over this country, United States, that reach out to your kids. Don't just let the kids sit there and say everything is fine. Reach out and find out," he explains.
Brad says he is starting a campaign in his son's name to end bullying. A video post he made on Facebook has already gone viral.
