MURPHYSBORO -- A Williamson County man has been arrested for a string of burglaries in Murphysboro.

Ronald E. Kelley, 47, of Carterville, is charged with two counts of burglary and one count of residential burglary.

Murphysboro Police were called just after 6 p.m. Sunday about someone breaking into a car in the 200 block of South 9th Street. As officers responded, another call came in about a home burglary in the 1300 block of South Street.

Officers caught up with Kelley minutes later. The victims in both burglaries identified him as the man responsible.
