CARBONDALE -- Technology was the theme of the day Saturday at Carbondale Middle School. The school hosted a Students Involved with Technology Conference.

More than 100 kids from third grade to twelfth were invited to learn more about technology from their own peers. Students gave presentations and demonstrations on programming, robotics, social media, and other areas.

"A lot of times they have different things in school that they can be part of, but not everybody can be part of presenting some of the things that they knew or what they're working on outside of the regular school day," says program Committee Cooridinator Shari Biggs.

Students also took part in a logo contest. It required students to design a logo for next year's conference.
