MT. VERNON -- The Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon wants to ensure children are properly buckled into their car seats. Officials with the Obstetrics department say vehicle crashes are the number one killer of kids. In many cases, it's because of improper safety belts.
So, the health center hosted a city-wide event Saturday at the Mt. Vernon Kroger, where anyone could stop by and check to see if their car seats were properly buckled. It was all free of charge.
