CARDBONALE -- Friends and family are turning to each other for support, as the search for a missing SIU student goes on.

Dozens joined together Monday night to hold a candlelight vigil for 19-year-old Pravin Varughese. They lit candles as signs of hope and to represent their quest for answers. Few words were spoken: hugs and tears said it all.

Organizers say it was a chance to show they're not giving up.

"We’re hoping that a positive outcome will happen from this. We just want Pravin to come home safe and we want as many people to know about him as we can 'cuz the more people know the more chance they have of finding something," explained Rachel Birdsell.

Varughese disappeared last Wednesday, after leaving a house party on West College Street in Carbondale.  This past weekend, his family and friends passed out fliers in Carbondale, hoping for information in his disappearance.  They're also offering a $15,000 reward.
