BENTON -- It was a somber evening in Benton Saturday, as dozens of family members and friends gathered to remember the life of 23-year-old Brittany Andrews.

They came to the parking lot of Vickee's Card shop for a candlelight vigil. It was there, where Andrews was shot and killed one year ago by her then boyfriend Donald Lee.

Friends of Andrews say this year has been tough, but they made it through by helping one another.

"We was just one family and us sticking together and talking and getting through everything together is what has helped," says Brittany Curwick, Andrews' best friend.

A jury convicted Donald Lee in March of shooting Andrews. He is set to be sentenced later this month.
