Bullriding Finals Coming to Du Quoin
PERRY COUNTY -- A new rodeo competition is coming to our region.
The National Federation of Professional Bullriders will bring its finals to the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds next month. The event will include the top 25 competitors from across the country.
St. Joseph, Missouri has recently hosted the national finals. However, organizers were looking for a new location that would still keep ticket prices down.
"We've been wanting to move it for a few years now," said NFPB President Clint Jackson. "Our strategic plan was to keep it centrally located in the United States, but we also wanted to find more rural areas where we can be a positive economic influence on the area."
Jackson says visitors can expect to see some big names in bullriding.
The National Finals are set for November 8th and 9th in Du Quoin.
