Beekeeping Conference Comes to SIU

CARBONDALE  --  Raising bees is becoming a popular hobby across the country and a conference heading to Southern Illinois University will help more people get involved. 

People will learn more about how to care for and breed bees.  They'll also get some tips on how to use bee products to create soaps, lotions, and other home goods. 
The event is intended for people of all abilities, from beginners to advanced keepers.
The 13th Annual Heartland Apicultural Society Conference will be held in the SIU Student Center from July 10 through 12. The opening speakers begin at 8:30 a.m. each day. 
It costs $100 dollars to attend the entire conference or $40 dollar per day. Walk-in registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
