Arrests Made in Jefferson County Warrant Sweep

MT. VERNON -- Ten people have been arrested as part of a warrant sweep in Jefferson County.

Members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office began serving the warrants Wednesday morning.

The police department says 25 people are wanted on drug-related charges ranging from meth to prescription medications. As of mid-morning, ten had been taken into custody.

Those arrested were:

Brian Fear, 39, of Dix -- Unlawful purchase of meth precursor 

Arthur Highfill, 42, of Mt. Vernon -- Unlawful purchase of meth precursor

Denise Houston, 40, of Mt. Vernon -- Possession of controlled substance

 

Phillip Johnson, 32, of Mt. Vernon -- Unlawful delivery of controlled substance

Sylvia Kibler, 25, of Mt. Vernon -- Unlawful delivery of cannabis

Ryan Pigg, 32, of Mt. Vernon -- Unlawful delivery of controlled substance

 

Monty Hamson, 44, of Mt. Vernon -- Possession of controlled substance

Betty Henry, 53, of Mt Vernon -- Unlawful delivery of controlled substance

 

Brenda Anderson, 58, of Mt. Vernon -- Unlawful delivery of controlled substance

Sherry Brown, 56, of Mt. Vernon -- Unlawful delivery of controlled substance
