Adams Found Fit to Stand Trial
BENTON -- A Franklin County man has been found fit to stand trial for the murder of his wife.
Police were called to the couple's home March 31. Investigators said Turner Adams, 52, had been shot in the back of the head. She died the next day at an Evansville, Indiana hospital.
In early June, a judge ordered Adams to undergo a mental health evaluation. After reviewing the results of the exam, the judge decided Wednesday that the case can move forward.
A pretrial hearing is set for Sept. 3. Adams is being held in the Franklin County Jail.
John Adams, 66, of West Frankfort, faces two counts of murder in the shooting death of Kendra Turner Adams.
